About me
I remember my first blog, back in 2008. The domain was the same as this one, so was the platform… pretty much everything stays the same. Except me.
At first, I did want to blog. I don’t know what for, neither to whom, I just wanted to show myself to the world (at least to Brazil, since it was in portuguese). To be called a ‘blogger’ was a cool thing, but sadly, I had nothing to say. After a few months, it faded away into the oblivion.
What have changed since that? Well, now I got something to say. I have read a lot, I have discussed a lot (especially on the channels of freenode), and more important, I have programmed a lot. Now I have a little more experience that’s worth sharing. And before I tell you about the blog itself, I’ll talk about me.
As you may have guessed, I’m from Brazil. By now, I’m 22 years old and about to get my B.S. in Computer Science at the Federal University of Itajubá.
I could list all the geeky stuff I like, but it’s pretty much everything (I’m not crazy anymore about games, except Tetris). I spend most of my spare time watching TV shows and reading comics (sure, programming leaves me with almost no spare time at all). Somehow I abandoned literature reading years ago, but I used to read Stephen King’s and Dragonlance novels a lot. Oh, good times reading Different Seasons! As well as The Green Mile … but hey, I digress.
Oh, yes, I’m very excited about mathematics, though I’m not that good at it, quite the contrary: It’s very hard for me to solve a mathematical challenge. In this matter, I used to spent some of that spare time working out Project Euler problems.
Eventually I’ll talk about these problems here, besides every other aspect of software creation and craftsmanship. I currently develop in PHP (and to a certain extent, HTML and CSS), JavaScript and Java. But I’m not going to limit the blog to these technologies. For example, I am learning Haskell, which is a fine and good-looking language. And I’m having such a great time that it’s impossible not to talk about it. It’s perfect to solve those Project Euler problems, by the way.
And that’s pretty much it. I’ll keep posting here in a constant pace, and if you don’t wanna lose me, you can subscribe to feed, send me an e-mail (raphaelpfmontanaro [at] gmail [dot] com) or follow me. Like Mötley Crüe said, on with the show!
